Easy macaroni and cheese
Materials:
2 cups elbow noodles
2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese.
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese.
3 glasses of milk
butter 1/4 cup
2 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup bread flour (for the topping)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Cook pasta.
Heat a big pot of salted water till it boils.
Cook the elbow pasta al dente according to the package instructions.
Drain and set aside.
Make the cheese sauce:
Heat a saucepan over medium heat to melt 1/4 cup butter.
Stir the flour until it forms a paste and turns a light golden color.
Add the milk little by little so that there are no lumps and stir until it thickens.
Reduce the heat, add the grated cheddar cheese and grated Parmesan and stir until the cheese melts and the sauce is smooth.
Add salt and pepper to the cheese sauce to season it..
Mix macaroni and cheese sauce:
Add the cooked pasta to the cheese sauce and stir until the pasta is evenly coated with the creamy mixture.
Optional toppings:
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a small saucepan. Add breadcrumbs and stir until everything is well coated with butter.
Sprinkle buttered breadcrumbs over the macaroni and cheese to give it a crunchy texture.
Service:
Add the macaroni and cheese to the bowl.
Garnish with grated cheddar or parmesan cheese if desired.
